March 20, 2020 – An Important Message for International Students
Every day the situation in Edmonton, Canada, and across the world is changing because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a very uncertain time and a new experience for all of us.
CCI-LEX is following advice from the government to ensure everyone’s safety – this is the most important thing. Social distancing is critical to stopping the spread of the virus and we encourage everyone to practice this – let’s keep each other safe!
As per government direction, CCI-LEX does not currently have face-to-face classes, and we do not know when our classes will re-open. When it is deemed safe by our government and health authorities, we will be ready to start classes again as quickly and smoothly as possible.
It is also important to know that currently, non-Canadian residents are not allowed to enter Canada, with no date for when this restriction will be lifted.
Therefore, at this time we are only taking international registrations to start from our fall term, August 31, 2020, or later.
However, in this continued time of uncertainty, new international students will be able to delay their start date up to eight months. For example, that means students registered for August 31, 2020 will be able to delay their start date until May 3, 2021, without penalty. In addition, students that register for August 31, 2020 or later will have the option to start classes earlier if it is possible.
We can also help you get started studying English now! If you are interested in online learning / tutoring with a CCI-LEX instructor, please contact us to discuss possibilities. We hope to offer new online learning possibilities very soon!
