You can study English at CCI-LEX with a valid Visitor Visa for up to 6 months. You do not need to have a Study Permit.
If you are coming on a Visitor Visa or eTA you can pre-register in classes to save your space!
If you plan on studying at CCI-LEX with a Visitor Visa, you will need to have medical insurance.
In Canada, only schools and institutions that are recognized as “Designated Learning Institutes” by the Canadian government are able to support Study Permit applications.
The CCI Program is a verified Designated Learning Institution. Our DLI # is O125073908927.
You can apply for a Study Permit to Canada with CCI-LEX. Study permits to study English at CCI-LEX are usually 6 months to 1 year.
If you receive a study permit to study ESL, you and your spouse will not be allowed to work in Canada during your studies at our school.
As a Designated Learning Institution (DLI # O125073908927), the CCI Program is eligible to receive international students and can support your application for a study permit of 6 months or more.
To apply for a Study Permit and receive a Letter of Acceptance from CCI-LEX, international students must pay for a minimum of one term of study in our Full-Time Intensive or Super Intensive ESL Program.
Payment is due in full before a student is considered registered and can receive a Letter of Acceptance.
CCI-LEX is not a degree-granting institution; therefore students are not eligible for a work permit while they study with us. If you have a study permit from CCI-LEX, you and your spouse will not be able to work during your studies.

The above costs are based on one-time payments being made at the start of each term. Additional tuition or materials fees may apply if a student changes or adds classes, or pays for shorter periods of study.

CCI-LEX reserves the right to dismiss students that cannot maintain academic standing or abide by school policies or procedures.

Health insurance is incredibly important for everyone to have when living or staying in a foreign country. All international students at CCI-LEX must have medical or health insurance.

Individuals applying for a Study Permit with CCI-LEX are required to pre-pay for one full-term of Full-Time Intensive ESL.
REFUND
CCI-LEX will provide a refund only in situations where the Study Permit is denied.
The refund will be based on net funds received, less the non-refundable application fee ($250) and a $150 administrative fee, and less all bank transfer charges or any additional fees incurred by CCI-LEX, such as postage or for providing replacement documents.
To receive a refund, CCI-LEX must be notified in writing of a visa denial before the program start date. A copy of the Official Notification of Denial letter from Immigration must be provided to CCI-LEX at that time. A refund will not be issued if CCI-LEX receives notification of the visa denial on or after the program start date.
WITHDRAWAL
Individuals that pay for a full-term may withdraw from their class and receive a refund.
There are two deadlines to withdraw.
Students must contact the office and submit a completed request form before the deadline. Student attendance is not a factor.
After the first two weeks of classes, there are no refunds.
In cases where CCI-LEX cancels a class:
CCI-LEX has policy and procedures in place to protect all student, staff, and volunteer information. We keep confidentiality of all private information seriously and abide by all relevant legislation.
International Students will receive a Student Handbook as part of their registration package which includes information about the CCI Program, arriving in Edmonton, and services available in Edmonton.
There is a Student Orientation held at the start of each term for new students. The Orientation reviews school policies, course information and testing, school services and activities, as well as basic information about Edmonton (transit, food, weather, safety, etc.) and where to go if they have questions about visas or immigration.
A variety of extracurricular events from free to low-cost are organized for students on a regular basis, from lunchtime grammar clubs, to trips to local festivals, guest speakers on a variety of topics, or short trips to locations outside of Edmonton!
We also organize regular volunteer activities at local organizations, so students can get volunteer experience in a group-setting. Students can also volunteer to help at the school!
There is also a computer lab with a variety of language learning software available for student use outside of class time at no extra cost.
CCI-LEX is a small school with a big heart! All of our office staff will do their best to answer any questions you may have, whether it’s about our school or Edmonton. Our staff are knowledgeable about the many resources available in Edmonton and we are happy to refer you to further services in the city. Staff are available Monday to Friday and will respond to any requests outside regular business hours promptly and within 72 hours – usually less!
The CCI Program also has a designated Program/Academic Lead who can offer further guidance and support in regards to your academic questions.
